Actually I have two -

My new ASPR Pony, Tulip (yes that is her reg name) took 4 Grands at her first show this past weekend in halter. Here is a pre-show pic:

My second brag is my yearling stud colt, Smokie (aka I Like To Move It Move It, TAP) took his first Grand this past weekend as well. He is in the Modern Pleasure division of the ASPC.

One year from first being put to the cart, ALI-ZEUS, a 13 hand black BLUE STAR Arabian stallion, took 2nd place in Training Single Pony at the Plum Creek Combined Driving Event! Too many ponies and not enough riders!

How many trainers/owners are having a hard time finding pony riders?? Seems there are way too many ponies being bred and started under saddle. Not near enough young riders taking interest in riding. I know myself and several others who have NICE ponies and we are begging for riders. Catch riding is not ideal but I have resorted to it from time to time. I think catch riding puts too much pressure on young riders to ride perfect and win on a pony they have never seen before. Not to mention it is ...

Sabino is established as a Pinto. Were we not told that excessive white Welsh are Sabino not Pinto?! If a pony is genetically tested as a Sabino, it is also genetically tested as a Pinto. According to the British Piebald & Skewbald Association, Inc., the Pinto and Piebald & Skewbald animals are basically one and the same as both are color breeds with no definite breed requirements except color.

Now, think about that....... If the WP rules say no piebalds or skewbalds, and piebalds ...

Eclipse our 4 year old Bristol bred Section B Welsh stallion won the Sport Pony Stallion & Gelding Class and the Sport Pony Breeding Championship Class at the NJ All Pony Show today!! His grandmother Bristol Serafina, who has been a broodmare for at least the last 10 years was entered in the English Pleasure Division where she won first in the English Pleasure Conformation Class and two seconds in the U/S and Working Class!! We showed Bristol Serafina for our first time at the NJ All Pony Show in the Welsh Pleasure Classes. I have to tell you that though she hasn't shown in many moons, she was a pleasure and fun to show. Sera wound up Reserve Champion in the division! And I know with a little more time in the ring she can be champion. When I get the pictures I will post one from the classes.

We've finally gotten Eclipse home!! He is exquisite! Could never be taken for anything BUT a Welsh Pony!!! AND there is NO expression of that poisonous sabino gene that so many are carrying with so much thorobred and barb blood in their lines. Eclipse is going right into formal training, so won't have time to stand to outside mares, but we might have a couple of babies here next year! Scooby is a beautiful, typey young Cob mare, and is for sale to an approved show and breeding home. Scooby has an extremely sweet, willing disposition and learns quickly. She has forward moving gaits with impulsion from behind and will excel in many performances.

Everything Equine Event - May 12th Uxbridge ON

This coming Saturday American Sport Pony breeders in Ontario will have a booth and be putting on a demonstration at the Everything Equine Event.

A pair of Carriage Driving ponies by *Rhosan Paisant will demonstrate driven dressage and cones.

A single mare will do a Dressage and Endurance demonstration.

Hopefully I will have more information and photos after the event.
